Printable Weekly Planner
A weekly planner like this one will allow you to have a full picture of your week. It has space for you to write out your dinner menu, schedules for the week, and even has a space for goal setting.
Each weekend I spend about an hour filling out our weekly planner and menu planning for the week ahead. Once the menu is planned, I start my grocery list on my Walmart Grocery app. An hour seems like a lot of time, but I take the time to do this before the week starts because in the long run it ends up saving me a lot of time.

Walmart Grocery Pickup
I love using the Walmart Grocery app because it saves me so much time and money. I can sit down and plan out my meals for the week and get my grocery shopping done all at the same time. They offer everything on their app, even toiletries and household items.
I like that I can pick a time that works for me to run by my local store and pick up my groceries while I am already out running errands. I cannot tell you what a game changer this has been for my family. Gone are the days of spending multiple hours a weekend preparing food for the next week.
Typically, as I am planning our meals I check our shared iCal calendar and write down any meetings, activities, sports practices or special events occurring that week. No more forgetting appointments or birthday parties. Using this weekly planner helps me keep track of all of these things. I know what nights I need to plan quick on the go meals and what nights we can sit down as a family and enjoy that time together.
Meal Planning
I’m not a great meal planner as I struggle from week to week because we end up eating the same things over and over. Our kids would have no qualms with pizza, macaroni and cheese, chicken nuggets, and hot dogs on repeat. I struggle when I feel like we are in a rut. We do have favorite meals that we like to cook most frequently. And I do like throwing in a new recipe every other week or so. It’s a good way to decide if you can add a new menu item to your rotations.
Set Daily Intentions
As a family of five our schedules can get really booked, and fast. Even though I keep a paper calendar and a digital calendar, I like to have the weekly calendar too. By providing a space for me to write out what is happening each day, it’s a reminder for what I need to be thinking about as the week progresses. I like to plan ahead the night before the next day. I use this calendar to help me look ahead to see what I need to set out, put in backpacks, or prepare for the day to come. This is all a part of my evening routine checklist that I use to stay on top of all the things I need to do. I have found that this makes me less rattled, less stressed, and more on top of things.
Goal Setting for a Better Result
You’ll notice at the bottom of this printable weekly planner there is a space for setting goals for the week. I find that goal setting is a great way to stay on track with what you are wanting to accomplish. These can be personal or professional goals, and they can be yours or a combination of goals from everyone in the family.
Do you practice goal setting? Before this last year, I always had found goal setting to be a meaningless task. I always struggled to connect my goals to actions and actually make them happen. This is why I feel that it’s so important to set goals the right way. SMART goals are a great goal setting format that enables you to get really clear about what your goals are and how you are going to get there.
What is a SMART goal, you ask?
S – Specific
The goals you set for yourself should be very specific. You should be able to describe exactly what it is you want to do with your goal.
M – Measurable
There has to be a way to measure your goal to know when you have achieved it. For this part of the smart goal, you should use numbers to be able to evaluate it.
A – Attainable
Your goal(s) should be challenging, but still possible. This means that if you’re a big dreamer, you will want to break up your big goal into smaller, more attainable goals.
R – Relevant
This part is about getting real with yourself and really asking yourself if your goal makes sense for what you are trying to do. Is this the thing that you should be focusing on right?
T – Time Based
Create a deadline for when you plan to reach your goal. You can also consider when you can create time to work on reaching your goal.
When you set SMART goals, you are giving yourself a plan for getting to where you want to be. You are creating a roadmap to follow and will actually see the results. This goal setting format has been so impactful to my growth over the last few years.
There is no such thing as the wrong time to get organized. We all fall victim to the business of life and have days or weeks when everything seems awry. Getting back on track doesn’t have to be a complete overhaul of your calendar or systems. You can start small by taking it one day and one week at a time.
This free printable weekly planner will help you take back control over your weeks.
