Real life. I didn’t quite have it in me this year to go all out for Christmas decor. And I was really trying to force it because I felt like I really *needed to* to inspire you guys during the holidays this year. 🎄

But that wouldn’t have been authentic. Because it’s been pretty hard to want to do all the holiday normal things because everything just feels so shrouded by this ever lovin’ virus.

We just spent two days at the hospital with our oldest for an appendicitis and tonight I’m gonna be grateful for a shower and my own bed. ❤️

A couple of years ago I had these colorful personalized stockings for each of us that I had collected as our family grew. Each year when another babe was born, I ordered a new stocking for them.

But eventually I found myself not wanting to put them out because they didn’t quite match the look I was going for in the house.

I wanted white stockings with a more neutral, simple feel. But I felt guilty replacing the ones I bought for my kids as babies.

Why did I feel guilty? Because of some unwritten rule that if I didn’t follow “tradition” that I’d somehow mess up the memories of the holidays for my kids.

It sounds ridiculous when I put it in writing.

So I threw it out the window and decided Christmas was more about the way you make your home *feel* around the holidays than the exact stockings you hang.

And to be honest, I’m glad I did because these stockings are just gorgeous. ✨I even added a sweet little personalized tag this year and I love them even more.

I won’t lie - even though I’m working from home, I still struggle to keep up with 👏🏼all👏🏼the👏🏼things 👏🏼 .

Doing laundry is the never ending chore I just really dread.

Slowly starting to look a bit like Christmas around here. 🌲

We were supposed to host Thanksgiving this year annnnndddd then COVID.

So...our celebration will look a bit different - like so many of you.

Since we won’t have a big gathering, I decided to simplify the dining room a bit.

Gotta say - I’m definitely loving the more modern look with the new chairs and chandelier. Oh and Moose is a pretty cute accent too. I mean, who doesn’t love a big sleepy chocolate lab laying around?! 😍
